About Lora
My own physical pain ignited my passion for hands-on therapy. Like most kids, I had my share of bumps and bruises, trips and falls, but I also had a significant bicycle accident when I was around ten years old. There were no broken bones and stitches were not necessary, so the town doctor sent me on my way. In the months and years to follow, I started having chronic pain throughout my body. My mother took me to the chiropractor for regular treatments that provided minimal relief.
I don’t know what sparked it for her, but I am grateful that my mother had an interest in healing and nutrition. She taught herself foot reflexology and ministered to the needs of our family and friends. With the aid of her various books, I learned foot reflex and acupressure points to relieve my pain.
Although I had a lengthy career as a legal secretary, my burning desire was to learn more about touch therapies and to help relieve the pain of others. Due to many changes in my life, shortly after my mother’s death I attended school, and in 1987 received my Florida massage therapy license.
For more than 30 years I have been studying and providing various forms of bodywork, including: massage therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, Myofascial Release, somatic movement, MPS Therapy, and CranioSacral Therapy.
Educated clients are empowered to take charge of their own well-being. Therefore, I am committed to teaching and providing information on a variety of subjects as they may affect my clients’ health.
I have personally experienced healing on many levels that I never thought possible, and my health continues to improve. I have a deep sense of fulfillment and satisfaction as I assist hurting people gain freedom from their pain. I continue to be amazed and intrigued, honored and privileged, to share in another person’s healing experience.
